How do you get a Payday Advance loan?
Question by Top Notch: How do you get a Payday Advance loan?
I had lost my job a couple of months ago due to budget layoffs and times have been hard but I just recently got a really good job. The things is I have a electricity bill that has to be paid in a couple of days or it gets turned off but my first payday isn’t for a week so I was wondering how do I get a payday advance? Do I have to have good credit?I live in Bakersfield, Ca if that matters.

If you have no other choice, then get one locally in your home city. There are several such places in Bakersfield:

You don’t need good credit to get a payday loan….just a checking account and a job.
Your first choice should be to sell any valuables to get money…as hard as that might be…or borrow from friends or family.
Payday loans are horrible and if you can’t repay it in full within a month, you could fall into a financial trap that can be hard to get out of.
Stay away from online cash advance places.

Rose,
It sounds like you only need a small amount of money to cover your electricity bill, correct?
If that’s the case, I would recommend looking at taking out a loan from Billfloat.com (no, I don’t have any affiliation with them). They don’t require good credit, and will lend up to $ 225 for a first time borrower (which I’m assuming would be enough to cover your electricity bill).
The biggest advantages – the rates are not anywhere nearly as high as what you will pay with a payday advance. STAY AWAY FROM PAYDAY LOANS!! The rates average over 400% APR, while Bilfloat will be more like 35% APR – still higher than most credit cards, but at least reasonable given that you don’t have to have good credit to get a loan from them.
Hope this helps, good luck!
Payday loans are not based on your credit. They are based on your ability to repay, meaning, you need to have a stable job and paycheck stubs to prove what you make.
Find a payday lender you can walk into (one that has a storefront) and talk to a human if you feel this is the only option you have. Forget the online ones, as what will happen is you will be caught in a continuous loop filling out personal data and shipping it off to who knows where and never getting a payday loan. In fact, you may even end up getting your bank account debited due to the service charging an application fee.
Now, about the electric bill. Have you called the electric company and asked them for an extension? Many will work with you. What you do is call, and tell them you would like to make payment arrangements. Ask them what kind of extension you can get and how much you would need to pay by that extension date. You may find they will extend out the shut off for a week or two and you would be able to bypass this whole payday loan thing.
