It’s good that you are using a bank to finance the car. Why? Because the seller is (like most people) not well versed in financing. They don’t understand interest or how to track and document your payments.

Applying for a bank loan to buy a car is the same, whether from a private party or a dealership. But you have to be sure the car you are buying is worth what you are paying. The bank doesn’t care if the car is a piece of junk. If you are borrowing the loan value of the car, you’ll be stuck with the debt regardless of the condition of the car.

Before applying for the loan, check the paperwork on the car. Is the title clear of lien holders. The title must be the ORIGINAL, not a photocopy (which can be altered). Also, check the registration. The seller must be the same person on the front of both documents or the seller must have a power of attorney authorizing him to make the sale on behalf of the true owner. Also, the VIN# must be the same on the car, title and registration. Don’t accept a “typo error” as an excuse for the mismatch. There are no typos on these documents.

Are there any legal consequences for not paying back a payday advance loan?

Question by butterflybaby20082000: Are there any legal consequences for not paying back a payday advance loan?
I took got a payday advance loan from cashnetusa.com I believe it was and It was due to be paid today. I had the intentions to pay it and now i dont have the money to. They tried to take the money out of my checking account and it was denied, leaving me with a fee from my bank because it was returned. I closed my bank account to keep this from continuing. What can they do if I am unable to pay this back? And in about how much time would they take these actions?

They can sue you for the money plus interest, they can have the court order/enter a judgement against you to pay them back all the money, interest + legal fees. If they are very nasty they will wait until the amount goes to above the smalll claims court limit then take you to big court and sue you for more, they can alternatively sell your credit to an annoying agency who will call you day and night, show up at your work, and tell everyone you know that you owe them money (including your boss, family, friends, etc). They can also go back and investigate yoour loan application and if they find any false information on it they can give it to the police and charge you for fraud if either they or the police find you lied, they can ruin your credit, this can also increase your cost of other credit cards or cause you to loose credit altogether. In some states it is a crime to write a check with nsf or insufficient funds so that alone could be enough to land you 90-180 days in jail. they can nail you for fraud if for example you realy do not have a job or your pay check is not what you said it was or if you misrepresented things on your application.

Are there any payday loans or emergency loan companies that will help people in the Military Reserves?

Question by Dawn L: Are there any payday loans or emergency loan companies that will help people in the Military Reserves?
We are desperately waiting for a re-enlistment bonus we are expecting but in the meantime need a quick loan to get us by for somethings that have come up. Payday loans dont seem to help those in the military anymore and I know payday loans are not a good idea but we also know we will only use this until the bonus comes thru . Anyone know where we can get a quick guaranteed loan for personnel in the reserves?

I wouldn’t do this. Why spend unnecessary? You are betting on receiving something that has yet to come. What would happen if something goes wrong for you? This is like writing a check and not having enough money in your account to cover it.

Q&A: is there a difference between a cash advance credit card debt and a regular purchase debt?

Question by Nicolas R: is there a difference between a cash advance credit card debt and a regular purchase debt?
Like, if I owe a lot of money to 3 or 4 credit card companies (like 4k each) on cash advances I know the interest rates are higher by a lot but is there a difference if the debt was for regular purchases? will they come after me more than if they weren’t cash advances? Can I still file bankruptcy to get out of the debt?

Absolutely! Your cash advance debt is billed at a much higher rate, and your payments to each card will be applied to the lower debt rate.

Say, you cash advanced $ 1000 at 24.99% APR but had an existing balance of $ 3000 at 9.99% APR

When you get ready to pay the bill, and attempt to pay the total cash advance balance, you’ll be in for a rude awakening. The credit card will apply the $ 1000 (+ fees) to the lesser APR, and if you continue to take out cash advances, eventually all of your debt will consist of the cash advance rate.

Also, your cash advance fees are more than likely immediate– unlike carrying a traditional balance where you can avoid the finance charges if you pay before the bill date. Cash advances should be a very last ditch, emergency option. They will increase your debt tenfold if you’re unable to manage them.
